We are a visual research and documentary studio working with organisations focused on making positive social and environmental change.

We spend time with people in their own environments to understand how life is actually lived, and how decisions are made in practice. This helps bring clarity to work that is often being looked at from a systems or strategic level.

We are usually brought in when something needs to be better understood, or better communicated.

We slot into existing teams and ways of working, supporting research, strategy and delivery with grounded, real-world insight.

What we help with

  • What is it actually like for the people your work is trying to reach?

  • What sits behind the numbers in your research or reporting?

  • Why does behaviour not match what existing data suggests?

  • How are services, tools or interventions experienced in practice?

  • What has your work changed, and what hasn’t it?

  • How can this be communicated clearly without losing what matters?

How we work

We combine qualitative research with documentary practice.

This includes interviews, observation and filming as part of the process. The aim is to understand behaviour and context as they are lived, and to document them in a way that is clear and usable.

We work across areas such as food systems, livelihoods, climate, biodiversity, public health and technology for good.

We are comfortable working independently or as part of a wider team, depending on what the project needs.

We use tools, including AI, where they are useful. But the work itself depends on being there.

What comes out of it

The outputs vary depending on the project, but often include:

Research findings in plain English beautifully and creatively presented
Documentary films and case studies
Material for internal use, funding or communication

The same work underpins both the research and the storytelling.

We keep things straightforward.

Clear communication, realistic timelines, and a practical approach to working in different environments.

The aim is simple.

To understand what is actually happening, and to bring that back clearly.
