We made a film about children in London during lockdown. We listened as they shared their perspectives and experiences with us.

Over the course of a month May 2020, the Habitus team ventured out into London to try and find out what impact the national lockdown was having on Children. We contacted friends and friends of friends as well as looked for children’s artwork in the windows of houses to find our participants.

After securing permission from the parents we conducted depth interviews with 8 children on their doorstep from over 2 meters. Where possible we wanted to use their doorway as the natural frame for the interview.

The b-roll is compiled from a number of early morning shoots across the capital and our neighbourhood in North West London.

The result is a 10 minute film which brings the viewer right back to that very visceral time for all of us when we were all adjusting to what turned out to be a life changing event in all of our lives. There’s something truly amazing about the unfiltered insights of children.
